Vince Austin

An artist, inventor, musician, Vince’s creative genius is nothing short of incredible. He has performed on Perth stages for the last twenty years in many entertaining guises, as guitarist and vocalist for several bands and as a solo performer. Vince first appeared in WA schools through local company 'Bubblemania' as the eccentric Professor Clearsphere in a hilarious primary school incursion which blended scientific fun and bubble blowing magic .

He has a background in prop and model making in the film and TV industry. Most notably, he worked as a props maker on the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

 

Vince focused his career on art and sculpture from 2010, embracing the Steampunk ethos with a special interest in using reclaimed materials. The Steampunk Dalek was created in 2016 and has rolled amongst Perth’s street festivals and impressed audiences of all ages.

Now Vince is touring with the Steampunk Dalek Roadshow, wearing a green heart on his sleeve, delivering important messages such as Look after our planet! Rethink! Asking our future generation of decision makers to question: Why do we have so much stuff? What do we really need? How do we make sustainable choices?

Shay Howard

With a passion for education and the arts, Shay has partnered with Vince to produce the Steampunk Dalek Roadshow. Shay has been supporting primary school classrooms for more than 15 years, creating Australian educational resources in collaboration with teachers from primary school to secondary school. More recently specialising in e-learning for online education. Shay has blended her enthusiasm for green thinking and creative flare to deliver an informative, fun and inspiring incursion.
